When you're booking a session at Sketch Studios, one of the first questions we ask is: how long do you have? The answer changes everything — from the activity format to the energy level to how the day feels.
Here's how a 2-hour workshop and a 3-hour party compare across the most common use cases.
2-hour workshop: what to expect
A 2-hour session is focused and efficient. There's enough time for a proper introduction, a guided activity, and a natural close — without anyone getting restless.
Best for:
Corporate team building sessions on a tight schedule
Adult groups who want a structured experience without a long social commitment
Teens and older kids who don't need an extended run-of-show
Weekday sessions where people have other obligations
Typical 2-hour run-of-show:
Arrival and setup (0:00–0:15)
Introduction and safety briefing (0:15–0:25)
Guided painting activity (0:25–1:30)
Photo time and pack-up (1:30–2:00)
3-hour party: what to expect
A 3-hour party gives you more breathing room. There's time for a proper arrival window, a longer painting session, food, free exploration, and a relaxed close. It feels more like an event.
Best for:
Kids birthday parties where guests arrive at different times
Teen parties with a social element (music, snacks, free time)
Groups who want a more immersive experience
Weekend bookings where there's no rush
Typical 3-hour run-of-show:
Arrival and vibe setup (0:00–0:20)
Guided painting activity (0:20–1:30)
Snack and cake moment (1:30–2:00)
Free painting or second segment (2:00–2:40)
Photo sets and pack-up (2:40–3:00)
Which should you book?
The honest answer depends on your group:
Kids under 10: 2 hours is often enough. Attention spans vary and a tight schedule keeps energy high.
Kids aged 10–14: 3 hours works well, especially with a snack break and free time at the end.
Teens (14+): Either works. Teens who want a social atmosphere will enjoy the 3-hour format more.
Adults / corporate: 2 hours is the default. Add time if you want a debrief or social segment after.
Mixed-age groups: 3 hours gives you more flexibility to manage different energy levels.
Can you extend or shorten on the day?
It's best to book the right length from the start. Last-minute extensions depend on venue availability. If you're unsure, we recommend starting with the longer option — it's easier to finish slightly early than to feel rushed.
